Aiming for additional intervention in the Middle Eastern country, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale arrived Friday morning in Lebanon to hold series of meetings with senior Lebanese officials.
Hale, a former US ambassador to Lebanon, will meet with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
A statement released by the US Embassy claimed that Hale will confirm his country’s commitment to its partnership with Lebanon, and will “encourage political leaders in Lebanon to commit to the necessary reforms that can lead to a stable, prosperous, and secure country.”
