Yemen’s Air Defenses Shoot Down Saudi Apache off Asir, Pilots Killed [video]

Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yehya Saree announced that Yemeni air defenses shot down a Saudi Apache using a surface-to-air missile with a new technology that will be unveiled later.

Noting that the Saudi Apache was shot down on Friday morning off Asir while carrying out hostile activity, Brigadier General Saree said the two Saudi crew members of the jet were killed and the aircraft was totally burned.

“The operation is documented by the military media cameras,” Saree noted, warning that approaching the Yemeni airspace is “prohibited and won't be a place for anybody to have a picnic there.”

Saree also vowed that the Yemeni Armed Forces will confront all of the enemy's attempts to completely protect the entire Yemeni airspace.
