Imam Khamenei Hails Iran Scientific Advances

TEHRAN--Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei praised country's "great achievements" in the past thirty years, citing the nation's self-sufficiency and major breakthrough in science and technology.
Speaking at a meeting with senior officials and members of the parliament on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said that Iran has developed in many fields improving living standards for the Iranian nation and this is showing that the country is following the message of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
He lauded Iran's achievements in nuclear technology, remarking it as just one of the great works the country has done during the past 30 years after the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution.
The Leader warned against foreign media hype on Iran aimed at giving a distorted image of the country and Islam, saying: "Iran's opposition to international imperialism and aggressions as well as internal despotism has made the arrogant powers to confront the country."
He said: "Western confrontation with Iran is based on an interactive understanding because the Islamic republic officials know exactly what is hidden under the velvet image of the big powers."
He asked the Iranian officials to act wise on country's issues and said acting rational did not mean to give up rights and every body must try hard to bolster what the Islamic revolution happened for.
