Lebanese State Minister representing Hezbollah, Mahmoud Qumati stated that toppling the government is not the solution because it will drag the country to a worse economic situation, noting that there is a group of the people who want to give the government a chance in wake of the latest decisions.

In a televised speech, Qumati stressed that “there is no unity of demands among the popular movement, this is why President Michel Aoun asked to have dialogue with a delegation representing them to know their demands.”

“There is a national rally that is expressing the people’s pain and not mobilized by any embassy in the world, but they have to clarify their demands,” Qumati added.

“We want the rally to continue, express its opinion and identify its demands to be met,” the Hezbollah minister said, adding however, that “demanding everybody’s resignation and freezing the nation is useless, because it will drag the nation to a worse economic situation.”

We tell the demonstrators that we are by your side and you should unify your demands, Qumati said.

Relatively, the Lebanese minister stressed that “we are in front of a historic responsibility that requires courage and appreciating the people’s voice, but at the same time we have to evaluate the negative impact had the country gone to the vacuum or a hard economic situation,” urging to ‘keep holding responsibility to carry the people’s demands and meet them.’

For his part, Hezbollah Member of the Parliament Dr. Ibrahim al-Moussawi said in a tweet on his official account that the slogan of “All of them means all of them” carries much injustice and defamation, as well fabrication and misguidance, adding that this hides the truth and equalizes the good and the bad.

Al-Moussawi further warned of the slogans used in the protests, advising demonstrators not to repeat them without thinking because this harms the core of the cause of standing up for justice.

“Don’t be a tool that helps the corrupted,” al-Moussawi told the demonstrators.
