‘We Foiled the Enemy’s Plots’, Head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization Tells Al-Ahed

Tehran – The Islamic Republic of Iran commemorates the Civil Defense Week, which is related to the organization that played a pivotal role in confronting and deterring many dangers and enemies’ threats against the country in the cyber field and other new threats.

In an exclusive interview with al-Ahed News website, Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali said: “We have the strong infrastructure to confront cyber-attacks,” adding that all American allegations in the past time are mere lies and empty claims.

Responding to a question about Iran’s position in the face of civil defense-related threats, General Jalali noted that: “The Islamic Republic of Iran is facing a sort of threats in the region that must be confronted by the Civil Defense, and in several domains we are in direct confrontation with the US, which include the military, security, cyber and economic domains, this is why the enemy seeks to achieve what it could on those levels.”

Jalali, however, noted that had we wanted to find Iran’s position in the face of such threats, “we have to study the extent of its influence.”

Jalali further ruled out that Iran would be facing a military, security or even cyber problem. “We passed the average in economy, and we’ve now reached the point of economic opportunities,” he added.

Brigadier General Jalali further told al-Ahed News that: “In politics, we didn’t witness internal separation, but those threats instead boosted unity and solidarity inside the country, especially towards resistance and defending the nation.”

“All such developments emphasize that the Islamic Republic of Iran succeeded in foiling the enemy’s plots, as well as deterring it,” Jalali concluded.
