“Israeli” Likud party leader Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to meet Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz for coalition talks in the coming days just hours after the latter was handed the task of building the apartheid entity’s next government.

The two party leaders are expected to continue talks over the possibility of forming a unity government, with Gantz ostensibly now in charge of negotiations.

Netanyahu's Likud party, however, stressed that the premier is negotiating on behalf of the 55-member bloc of right-wing and religious parties, demanding that they be included in any future coalition government.

Earlier on Wednesday, “Israeli” President Reuven Rivlin tasked the former “Israeli” army’s chief with forming the government after Netanyahu acknowledged his failure to build a coalition.

Accepting the mandate, Gantz has re-iterated his pledge to form a liberal unity government, a government.

In his previous statements, Gantz refused to sit in a government with Netanyahu while the latter was dealing with corruption charges.
