The head of Hezbollah's Executive Council his Eminence Sayyed Hashim Safieddine, asserted that "The Resistance and its leader have said what they have a long time ago, a word they intend to keep and not back down on, that whatever enemy assaults us will inevitably be punished, even if the whole world spoke to any party of the Lebanese, Arab or international parties”, his comments came during an event in Hermel.
Sayyed Safieddine went on to say: "Sayyed [Nasrallah] warned [‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu that he should be on high alert, and I tell him to wait for ‘strike’, and you will no longer be on your toes; and you all know what will happen to him then”.
His Eminence continued: “We are not talking to make believe, but we are talking about facts and experiences; and we know that Netanyahu can only threaten to bomb us by his planes and to attack and kill people,'' and stressing that, “we did not and will not seek war; but we are defending our people, our country, our sovereignty and our dignity; and this is the most important”.
Sayyed Safieddine pointed out that through his latest aggression, Netanyahu merely wants to win electoral votes. He said that “the goal that drives America and the West to reach out to Lebanese political forces is to avoid retaliation as a way to protect frightened Netanyahu, in order for him to win the elections. They are afraid of a blow against him making him succumb to more humiliation and disgrace. As a result, they will lose votes and bets they have always threatened us with; this experience has proven its weakness”.
