Hizbullah official Sheikh Nabil Qaouk said that threats coming from outside Lebanon and internal political tensions were linked to the Lebanese elections. "There is fear about the Kadima [party] elections in "Israel", and fear about the [2009] Lebanese parliamentary elections," he said.
At an educational event in the southern village of Hnewiyeh on Tuesday, Qaouk said that strong popular support for the Resistance strengthens its position in confronting "Israel"i threats. As the Resistance's strength grows, he said, the possibility of war with "Israel" declines.
"Hizbullah proved to everyone that it is a pioneer in preserving national stability and can offer Lebanon a new chance with a new cabinet to turn a new page," Qaouk told the crowd.
