Lebanese President Michel Aoun met with the country’s United Nations Special Coordinator on Monday to discuss the “‘Israeli’ assault on the southern suburbs of Beirut,” the presidency said on Twitter.

In a related platform, Major General Mohammad Kheir, the head of the Higher Relief Committee, Monday inspected the damage caused by the “Israeli” drone explosion in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

“This is the kind of terrorism that we see on Lebanese citizens. ... Each time it comes in a different form,” Kheir said.

At around 2:30 Sunday morning, two “Israeli” drones were seen hovering between buildings in the Mouawad area in the southern suburbs. One subsequently exploded, and the other crashed, and exploded.

“We stand alongside any Lebanese citizen who is attacked. ... This sort of aggression will not be repeated thanks to the steadfastness of the Lebanese,” Kheir added.

He said he was working with the Lebanese Army to carry out the necessary investigations and would submit a full report to Cabinet.
