Nigerian Cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky has been in India since Monday, and has yet to receive medical treatment. Al-Ahed was able to attain the latest developments regarding His eminence’s condition.

“Sheikh Zakzaky has not started receiving any medical treatment yet,” a source close to Sheikh Zakzaky told al-Ahed.

The source went on to explain that the situation since their arrival is still the same, pointing out that Sheikh Zakzaky “feels very uncomfortable with the hospital because of everything that has happened so far”.

“He [Sheikh Zakzaky] says he does not trust this hospital,” the source clarified.

Furthermore, the source mentioned that “the hospital management where Sheikh Zakzaky has been admitted into – sort of – collaborated with the security operatives and the Nigerian diplomats in India”.

In the light if these events, His Eminence “decided that he wants to move to a different hospital,” the source said.

In the meantime, Sheikh Zakzaky is supposed to have “a meeting with the Islamic Human Rights Commission [IHRC] chair Massoud Shadjareh from the UK, to make the arrangements for a different hospital,” the source added.

However, Sheikh Zakzaky has been prohibited from having the meeting. The source explained that “it’s the Nigerian embassy procrastinating with the allowing His Eminence from meeting with the IHRC chair in order to make the arrangements for a different hospital”.
