The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps [IRGC] forces have attacked a team of terrorists in the northwesternmost corner of Iran, killing one and seizing equipment from them after they crossed the border, a statement said.

According to the public relations department of the IRGC’s Hamze Sayyid al-Shohada Base, its servicemen clashed with an anti-Revolution team of terrorists affiliated with the “global arrogance” who had plans to infiltrate into the country from Chaldoran region in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan on Sunday night.

The IRGC troops killed one of the terrorists, injured two, and captured another one, while two Iranian forces suffered minor injuries in the exchange of fire, the statement added.

A considerable amount of weapons, communication equipment and ammunition has been seized from the terrorists, it added.

In July 2018, anti-revolutionary terrorists attacked a border post of the IRGC Ground Force’s Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base in Iran’s western province of Kurdistan, causing the martyrdom 11 forces of the base.

The IRGC is tasked with protecting the country’s northwestern and southeastern borders.
