«Israel» Halts Fuel Transfer to Gaza in Rebuke for Incendiary Balloons
By Staff, Agencies
The “Israeli” entity announced early Tuesday morning that following a surge of incendiary balloons launched from the besieged Gaza Strip into the entity, it would halt the transfer of fuel to the Strip's only power plant as a retaliatory measure.
On Monday, multiple fires erupted in the “Israeli” entity along its border with Gaza, which is suspected to be a result of the continuous launches.
The region has been bracing for unrest ahead of the US-led Bahrain economic summit, which the Palestinian Authority has boycotted and made calls for mass protest in the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza.
The entity has also used the reduction of fishing zone as a means of retaliating against the launch of incendiary balloons into its territory, without great success.
Critics have blasted the government for using the fishing zone as a means of collective punishment over Gaza's economically disenfranchised population.
Additionally, the Strip faces constant electricity shortages due to lack of funds and only one power plant.
