Trump Receives ‘Beautiful’ Letter from Kim, Hopes for 3rd Summit

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he has received another "beautiful letter" from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, several months after a seemingly inconclusive second summit ended abruptly in Vietnam, and that he was open to holding a third.

Expressing openness to a third summit, Trump indicated that he continues to trust Kim despite making little progress in the efforts to get Pyongyang to denuclearize.

"It could happen but I want to bring it further down the line," Trump said.

White House national security adviser John Bolton is also backing a new summit.

"We're ready when they are," he told The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

Trump did not divulge what was in the letter from Kim. He has described previous letters as "beautiful" and even said that he and the North Korean leader "fell in love."
