Aoun: The people, army and Resistance are one united defense identity

Here are the Excerpts from General Michel Aoun's speech in parliament
- The "Israeli" press today said it considered Lebanon's national unity government and Prime Minister Fouad Siniora responsible for any armed incidents ... So, based on this report in Haaretz, there is no need to outline the threat that Lebanon faces.
-There are a number of reasons "Israel" bases its acts against Lebanon on... And we must either wait until we give in to "Israel", or resist. Resistance is a style ... The people, army and Resistance are one united defense identity. When we discuss a defense strategy, we must discuss defense as a style as every Lebanese has the right to defend.
-From now on, we must not differentiate the components of national resistance ... as a classic army cannot defend a small country like Lebanon.
-We need two strategies: a classic defense strategy exerts authority inside Lebanon, and a resistance strategy defends Lebanon against foreign attacks.
-As part of this definition, we will defend the Resistance and the defense strategy as a partial component of classic defense.
-I have some reservations on the ministerial statement. The Shibaa Farms and Kafr Shuba Hills will not be retrieved, but liberated... We request the liberation of these lands.
-Our second reservation is around the Palestinian issue... As an army officer, I recall the sufferings of the Palestinians in refugee camps.
-The UN resolution on Palestine is only theoretical - no one abided by it. We still talk about resettlement and the right to return. What are we doing to guarantee the right to return? In our inability to treat this issue, we end up fighting one another. All countries that worked on or for this resolution must work to preserve [Palestinian] rights. The US must give them the right to travel to and work in the US ... as must France... Lebanon alone cannot bear the responsibility for the Palestinian issue, we have our own problems.
-All Arab countries, from the Gulf to the coast, supported Palestine verbally but did not shelter Palestinians on their land. Lebanon, the smallest country in the Middle East, sheltered the refugees in their small lands... No Arab country extended a hand to help Lebanon.
-Through all the wars in Lebanon and economic difficulties, Arab cooperation was in the form of speeches.
-The second topic is missing persons. We have missing persons in Libya... We all have the right to know the truth behind Sheikh Moussa Sadr's disappearance.
-There is the issue of missing persons in Lebanon... There are many missing persons in Lebanon. There must be a DNA bank to identify them ... which can be established with international aid.
-The detainee dossier is now in the president's hands. The families of detainees in Syrian prisons have the right to know the fate of their loved ones.
-Finally, there are major environmental problems in Lebanon. We can avoid all these forest fires... by raising public awareness. There are 70 talk shows on TV... Every station can dedicate 30 minutes a week for environmental awareness.
