Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Nawwar Saheli reminded OTV viewers on Friday that President Michel Suleiman had "hinted" at ministers that the upcoming ministerial statement must be based on three axes: his inaugural speech, the Doha Agreement and the decisions made by the Arab foreign ministers, who decided to keep the clause dealing with the Resistance as it appeared in the previous cabinet statement.
Saheli accused Prime Minister Fouad Siniora of attempting to "play tricks" by trying to add some words to the ministerial statement.
"Some of those who claim to be continuing the course of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri are forgetting an important part of his history, as he toured the world in support of the Resistance," Saheli said.
Saheli noted that the "May incidents" were not a victory over any Lebanese party unless that party considers it as such, or considers the "US project in Lebanon defeated."
The MP also said Hizbullah's recent statement against "Israeli" violations of Lebanese airspace were not aimed at Lebanon, but served as a reminder to the "outside world" that Lebanon is a sovereign country. He denounced "cheap" attempts to link Hizbullah's statement to the ministerial statement.
Saheli emphasized that Hizbullah does not blindly believe in killing, but "loves the culture of life more than some people know."
The MP also said he would adopt the president's call for the liberation of the Shibaa Farms militarily if diplomatic means do not succeed.
Saheli pointed out that Hizbullah had been an active member in the Lebanese cabinet when it unanimously passed UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which brought the 34-day July War to an end.
