Light ’Em Up, Blow ’Em Out: IOF Levels House of Salfit Op Hero Martyr Abu Laila

The apartheid “Israeli” regime blew up on Wednesday the residence of Martyr Omar Amin Abu Leila in the Occupied West Bank.

On March 17, Martyr Abu Laila fatally stabbed an “Israeli” soldiers Sgt. Gal Keidan at the Ariel Junction outside the occupied West Bank settlement of the same name, grabbed the soldier’s gun and opened fire, hitting a Rabbi and severely injuring another “Israeli” settler.

The 19-year-old hero was martyred during a shootout in the village of Abwein, located about 37 kilometers north of Ramallah, late on Tuesday [March 19] night after special units of the “Israeli” forces surrounded the house he was in.

Salfit, the 204 km2-sized city of the occupied West Bank, suffers from 17 illegal settlements, which were built on stolen lands of Palestinians.

The “Israeli’ entity frequently demolishes Palestinian homes, as it alleges that this practice is an effective means of discouraging future operations. Human rights groups have criticized the practice as a form of collective punishment and by some analysts as an ineffective deterrent measure.
