Stances by Saudi Arabia and Bahrain on the latest US anti-Iran move clearly shows their lack of understanding on the realities and fallouts of Washington's adventures in the region, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said Wednesday.

In his latest move against Iran, US President Donald Trump labeled the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps [IRGC] which is a part of the country's Armed Forces as a terrorist entity.

Immediately after Trump’s announcement, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain welcomed the move as a long-awaited decision.

Rejecting stances of Riyadh and Manama in support of the US move, Qassemi stressed that the position is against the principles of non-intervention and respect for sovereignty of countries.

They cannot divert public opinion from their efforts in promoting terrorism in the region and the world by taking such stances, Qassemi added.

'Some states in the region have made a habit of unconsciously obeying their trans-regional masters,' he said, adding, 'the states have been among the main sponsors of terrorist thoughts and teachings in the region and the world and have spared no efforts and turned down no opportunity to support the terrorist groups over the past decades.'

They are in no position to take stance against Iran and no doubt they won’t be able to divert the global public opinion from their role in spreading terrorism in the region and the world.
