MP Qassem Hashem of the Liberation and Development bloc on Friday said there was "no excuse for delaying the ministerial statement, since agreement on the most important points , and especially the clause concerning the Resistance, was concluded."
Hashem added that what was put forth by the pro-government alliance was only a way to sidestep its promise to adhere to the previous government's ministerial statement, particularly on the clause pertaining to the Resistance.
The MP underlined that part of the Lebanese territories, namely the Shibaa Farms, Kafr Shouba hills, and the Lebanese part of Ghajar, were still under occupation "in addition to the hegemony of continuing hegemony of the "Israeli" army by violating our airspace." The Resistance would therefore not relinquish "its choice, which led to three victories from the year 2000 until the final victory of the year 2008.
During a radio interview, Hashem said the pro-government coalition should seize the opportunity to meet with other Lebanese parties, and not just work to "score points and to declare artificial victories at the expense of stability, which is reflected in the eocnomy and in society."
On international resolutions, Hashem said, "All the Lebanese agree on implementing international resolutions, including the Resistance," but noted that such agreement to some meant bargaining yet again on foreign intervention.
