Imam Khamenei Expresses Condolences over Death of People in Iran’s Shiraz Floods

Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei Tuesday expressed condolences over the death of scores of people in the southern flood-hit region.

Unprecedented heavy rains on Monday in the southern city of Shiraz killed at least 18 people and injured and displaced a large number of people.

In a message to Shiraz's Friday prayer leader Dejkam, Imam Khamenei expressed his grievances over the disaster and wished the injured people a quick recovery.

Imam Khamenei also called on all officials to mobilize all power and capabilities for relief operations.

The crisis has coincided with the two-week New Year holidays that is considered as the peak of trips in Iranian provinces.

His Eminence offered condolences to people of Shiraz over the loss of their loved ones.
