Hizbullah official: Grounds Proper for Unity in Lebanon

BEIRUT--A senior Hizbullah official says recent release of five Lebanese fighters from "Israeli" prisons is a "golden opportunity" for Lebanon's parties to overcome the past differences and form a united national front against threats.

Hassan Hodroj, a member of the Hizbullah Political Council, told Al-Alam on Thursday that Lebanese groups should end divergences and move toward reconstruction of the country.

On Wednesday, five Lebanese prisoners were freed from "Israeli" prisons in exchange for the bodies of two "Israeli" soldiers captured in 2006 prior to the 33-day war.
The Zionist regime also handed over the remains of 199 Lebanese and Palestinian fighters killed in recent years.

Hodroj also backed a recent stance by the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) leader, Walid Jumblatt, who said at a ceremony for the release of prisoner Samir Kantar that there was no contradiction between the resistance and the policy of the government.

Lebanese people should seize the opportunity and be unite against threats facing the nation specialty from the Zionist regime, the official said.
