The United States' performance around the world carries only a surplus of aggression, either on the pretext of commercial interests, or to cover the recalcitrant, or in most cases to prevent the stability of countries that refuse to comply with Washington. Based on David Satterfield's visit, it seems that Lebanon is not excluded from this performance.

The surprise visit by US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Satterfield to Beirut, is in preparation for the visit his boss, US secretary of State Mike Pompeo, will make to the country.

This visit reflected an American determination not to neutralize Lebanon from the American-“Israeli”-Saudi war on the axis of resistance. This is what emerged in the talks held by the American envoy, which excluded Lebanese President Michel Aoun and was limited to meeting with Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Foreign Minister Gibran Bassil, as well as several parties and personalities of the so-called "March 14 Forces", such as the Lebanese Forces, the Phalanges Party and the Progressive Socialist Party.

The information stressed that Satterfield "carried implicit threats confirming that the battle with the Iranians and their allies in the region is open, and that all weapons are permissible."

The US envoy reiterated to those who met with them the need to "limit the influence of Hezbollah in government policies" and that "America will continue to press and harass if Lebanon does not abide by the policy of distancing itself from any axis with Iran, even if this pressure destabilizes Lebanon.”

“The meetings with the March 14 forces aimed to establish a lobby against Hezbollah in parallel with the American attack in the region."
