Hizbullah's Secretary General Deputy Sheikh Naim Qassem said that the prisoner swap deal with "Israel" revealed the unity of the Lebanese people, the popular and official unanimity over the liberation of detainees.

Qassem told the Qatari daily Al-Arab that Hizbullah supports any pattern that would lead to additional understanding, dialogue, unity and consensus.
"When I stand side by side with PM Fouad Siniora this indicates our readiness to open a new page," Qassem declared.

He also said Hizbullah's participation in a government headed by PM Siniora indicates the party's readiness to overcome all what has happened and to focus on the future on the basis of the national-unity government.

"We are ready to discuss the defensive strategy with an open mind," Qassem declared while noting that Hizbullah will commit itself to any results reached through dialogue.

He also said that the party has no reservations over restoring relations with the Future Movement headed by MP Saad Hariri.
"We have declared our readiness for dialogue and meetings in order to reach results," Qassem declared.
