Iran’s Parliament Speaker Discusses Enhancing Bilateral Relations with Chinese President

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that his country's plan to enhance its "comprehensive strategic partnership" will remain unchanged irrespective of global and regional developments.

“No matter how the international and regional situations change, China's resolve to develop comprehensive strategic partnership with Iran will remain unchanged,” Xi said on Wednesday in a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in Beijing.

He also stressed that the two nations should boost their "strategic mutual trust" and support each other's "core interests".

"We support Iran in playing a constructive role in maintaining regional peace and stability and are willing to closely communicate and coordinate with Iran on regional issues," he added.

For his part, Larijani said Iran took a "strategic and long-term" view to develop relations with China to promote peace and stability in Asia and the world.
