The Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, stressed that the conditions are complicated and the Zionist enemy is not preparing for war. He pointed out that he does not believe that “Israel” is capable of launching an aggression against Lebanon, but if it wanted to “ we are ready”.

In a televised interview on Sunday evening, Sheikh Qassem stressed the need for the restoration of Lebanese-Syrian relations. He pointed out that Prime Minister Saad Hariri and some parties were reluctant to do so because of American pressure.

“The Americans want to use Lebanon as a pressure box on the Syrian government by using the displaced people," he explained.

"Lebanon's economic lungs are Syria. We will exert efforts in the government to re-establish relations with Syria," Sheikh Qassem said. "The displaced people not returning to Syria is linked to the UN stance which is linked to the American and Western positions."

The deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah said that Lebanon would not benefit from the reconstruction of Syria without a political agreement between the two countries, stressing at the same time that Hezbollah will not participate in the reconstruction for the sake of economic and commercial benefits.

He also pointed out that there is no political solution on the horizon in Syria and that the American stance is the main obstacle.

"The Russian-Iranian understanding on Syria exists and minor differences can be addressed," he said

Responding to comments by “Israeli” Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Hezbollah’s control over the government, Sheikh Qassem said that "it is a national unity government and Hezbollah makes up 10 percent."

“The Ministry of Health is for all Lebanese and not to finance Hezbollah," he added.

Regarding the American stance toward Hezbollah’s managing the Ministry of Health, Sheikh Qassem said "If Washington imposes sanctions on the ministry, then it is punishing Lebanon."

"America does not want to increase the love of the Lebanese for the party in light of its experience in the ministry," he said, adding that it is likely that foreign aid will remain the same for the Ministry of Health.

"We have set up a task forces alongside the Minister of Health, and we have developed an integrated plan." Sheikh Qassem concluded. "We have no goal called the Iranian medicine, but we are studying the possibility of using it as a solution."
