Syrian Foreign Ministry: «Israeli» Assault on Syria is Blatant Violation of UNSC Resolutions

Syria stressed on Wednesday that the “Israeli” aggression on its territories is a blatant violation of UNSC Resolution No. 350 for the year 1974 on Separation of Forces Agreement, as this aggression comes in the framework of the constant “Israeli” attempts to prolong the crisis in Syria and the war of terrorism and to raise the morale of the remnants of terrorists.

In two identical letters sent to the UN Secretary General and Head of the Security Council, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that authorities of the “Israeli” occupation launched on 25^th of December, 2018 a new assault on territories of the Syrian Arab Republic in a flagrant violation of UNSC Resolution NO. 350 through targeting several military and civil positions in Damascus and its countryside with missiles, adding that the assault coincided with a time when streets were crowded with civilians celebrating Christmas for the first time after Damascus and its countryside were cleaned of terrorism.

The Ministry continued to say that the attempts of the authorities of the “Israeli” occupation to terrify the Syrian people in a holy day constitutes conclusive evidence that what the “Israeli” entity is doing is not different from what the Wahhabi Daesh [Arabic acronym for “ISIS” / “ISIL”] terrorist organization and al-Nusra Front do, as the authorities of the “Israeli” occupation has moved to a new stage practicing the terror of state directly after its agents (the terrorist groups) were defeated.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry continued to say that Syria stresses that the entity would not have continued to take its dangerous and aggressive approach without the continuous unlimited support by the US Administration.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry’s statement concluded by saying that Syria demands the UN Security Council all over again to assume its responsibilities in keeping international peace and security and adopting prompt and firm measures to prevent the repetition of the “Israeli” attacks, as it demands it to obligate the entity to respect its resolutions related to Separation of Forces Agreement.
