Hezbollah Expresses Condolences on the Death of Ayatollah Shahroudi

Hezbollah issued the following statement:

Hezbollah expresses deep grief and sorrow for the death of Chief of Expediency Discernment Council of Iran’s System His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyed Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, and offers condolences to His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei and the prominent religious scholars, the religious scientific schools and his honorable family.

Hezbollah finds his passing away a major loss for the Muslim world and the people of religious sciences, research and discretion. His Eminence was a prominent shining teacher for many of our brothers and noticeable scholars whether in the holy city of Najaf or in holy Qom.

The late scholar was of a prominent position, distinct personality, knowledgeable of different sciences namely specialized legal studies. His Eminence had held top positions in the Islamic Republic, offering great services to the nation and leaving important scientific legacy.

The late prominent cleric had supported the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon since the beginning, backing it in its fight against the “Israeli” enemy, and through different phases and difficulties.

We pray for Allah Almighty that the late Ayatollah rest in Allah’s mercy and be in Heaven with his pure ancestors.
