In yet another blatant violation of the Lebanese sovereignty, five “Israeli” excavators Monday started building a dirt barrier opposite the southern Lebanese village of Mais al-Jabal, according to the town’s mayor.

Abdul-Munem Choucair said the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL personnel were monitoring the excavators building up a dirt berm at a point between Mais al-Jabal and Kroom al-Sharaki hill, which comes almost a week after the Zionist entity announced its so-called ‘Northern Shield Operation’ to find and block what it claimed to be “Hezbollah tunnels.”

The first tunnel that Zionist entity claimed to have discovered allegedly led from Kfar Kila, just north of Mais al-Jabal, and exited near the “Israeli” occupation settlement of Metula.

The enemy’s military spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed Saturday that Zionist forces found another tunnel, without specifying its location.

Following Adraee’s announcement, Lebanese state-run National News Agency reported that “Israeli” occupation soldiers had crossed the technical fence near Mais al-Jabal, but didn’t cross the Blue Line, while reportedly searching for two machine guns they had lost in the area, which then prompted the Lebanese Army to conduct its own patrols.

Then on Sunday, the NNA reported that about 25 “Israeli” soldiers, along with an excavator, crossed the technical fence in the Kroom al-Sharaki area and started excavations 20 meters away from the Blue Line.

“Israeli” occupation forces meanwhile resumed excavation works south of Kfar Kila Sunday night, after withdrawing four excavators from that area over the weekend.

The Lebanese Army said in a statement Sunday evening it had deployed units along the border and was taking measures to cooperate with UNIFIL.
