Saudi Defeats in Yemen Push Halting Assault on Al-Hudaydah

As a result of the successive defeats inflicted on the Saudi-led coalition’s military aggression against Yemen, it ordered a halt in its offensive on Yemen's main port city of al-Hudaydah.
The Saudi-led coalition ordered a halt in its offensive on Yemen's main port city, three sources told Reuters on Thursday.
"The coalition has instructed forces on the ground to halt fighting inside al-Hudaydah," said one pro-coalition military source.
The development comes in an apparent concession to Western pressure to end the war.
Key Western allies including the United States have been urgently calling for a ceasefire ahead of renewed UN-led peace efforts.
The nearly four-year-old war has claimed the lives of more than 10,000 people and caused a humanitarian disaster in an already impoverished Yemen.
