Hezbollah issued the following statement:

Hezbollah condemned the unjust sentence handed down by the Bahraini regime's courts to life imprisonment of the head of the Bahraini opposition, Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society's Secretary General, Sheikh Ali Salman, as well as the former members of the parliament Sheikh Hassan Sultan and Ali al-Aswad.

This forms a clear expression of the oppressive and dictatorial identity of the Bahraini rulers, who aim by these unjust sentences to terrorize the Bahraini people and prevent it from achieving any reform or democratic change.

Hezbollah considered that the timing of this ruling in these days seeks to prepare the atmosphere for the visit of the “Israeli” enemy’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Manama.

They also want to issue a repressive message to terrorize citizens and prevent them from expressing their stance towards the Zionist enemy, given that they [Bahraini people] refuse normalization with it and they support the resistance movements in all its jihad against it.

As Hezbollah expressed its solidarity with the oppressed convicts, it considered that the courageous people of Bahrain who have offered martyrs and great sacrifices on the path of freedom will be motivated by these unjust sentences. They will be even more determined to continue the path until achieving their just goals.
