A Syrian military source announced on Sunday that Syria’s air forces intercepted an “Israeli” aggression and downed a number of missiles which were targeting the T-4 airport in the Homs Province.
The source further added that the Syrian Air defense hit one of the attacking warplanes and forced the others to leave the airspaces.
According to Syria's official news agency SANA, the source of the downed missiles was from south of the al-Tanf region.
"Our air defenses are responding to an “Israeli” aggression and intercepting a number of missiles targeting the airport, hitting one of the attacking planes and forcing the rest to leave the airspace," added a military source.
Earlier in June, two “Israeli” missiles hit a location near Damascus' international airport.
The Tel Aviv regime has recently increased its airstrikes in the Arab nation.
The Syrian government, for its part, has on multiple occasions slammed the “Israeli” regime’s aggression actions and also warned about the “dangerous repercussions” of “Israeli” assaults on its territories.
The Zionist entity is widely believed to have been providing weapons to anti-Damascus militants as well as medical treatment to Takfiri elements wounded in Syria inside the occupied Golan Heights.
