More than 22 civilians have been martyred and several others sustained injuries when Saudi fighter jets carried out airstrikes against a wedding convoy in Yemen’s northwestern mountainous province of Saada.

This comes as Saudi Arabia the Riyadh with its atrocious bombardment campaign against Yemen.

Local sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network that the vehicles were traveling along a road in the Ghaferah area of al-Dhaher district when they were attacked.

The sources added that 22 people were martyred and as many others, mostly women and children, injured. The death toll is expected to rise as some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

Separately, a woman was martyed when Saudi military aircraft struck a residential building in the Haydan district of the same Yemeni province. The aerial raids reportedly caused extensive damage at the area.

Elsewhere in the Hayran district of the northern Yemen’s province of Hajjah, three farmhands lost their lives and two others were injured when an unmanned aerial vehicle struck a farm.

Three other people were also martyred in a Saudi airstrike against the western port city of Hudaydah, located 150 kilometers southwest of the capital Sana'a.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the Saudi-led aggression had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured since March 2015.

The United Nations says a record 22.2 million Yemenis are in need of food aid, including 8.4 million threatened by severe hunger.
