Al-Wefaq: FM Represents Himself Only & Not Bahrain, He Must Resign

Al-Wefaq said that what was issued by Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed represents himself only and does not represent Bahrain and the Bahrainis.

The group assured that "the Bahraini people rejects any alliances, dealings or justifications for the Zionist entity and considers that contradictory to the simplest constancies and universals," adding that "whatever be issued by any official, regardless of his position, is his own opinion" and does not represent the Bahrainis.

Prior to the al-Wefaq's statement, the Bahraini FM has expressed support for the "Israeli" after Tel Aviv hit dozens of military targets in Syria amid Syrian army advances against the Wahhabi terrorists and other foreign backed militants.

On Thursday, Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed tweeted that the "Israeli" entity "has the right to defend itself".

Al-Wefaq called on the foreign minister "to respect the Bahraini people and resign" his post, adding that the FM's statements is "a disgrace to Bahrain... and an offense to Islam and the Palestinian cause".

The group stressed that "normalizations with the Zionist entity is not subject to debate. The Bahraini people stand against it".

Over the weekend, teams from the United Arab Emirate [UAE] and Bahrain had taken part in the opening legs of the Giro d'Italia cycling race in the "Israeli" entity.

The presence of the Gulf states' teams in the top cycling race -- which has now moved on to its home territory in Italy -- broke a boycott of the entity in place since the start of the Arab-"Israeli" conflict in 1948.

In a published interview last month, Saudi Arabia's crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, said that "Israelis" were entitled to live "peacefully" in their "own land", in a rare acknowledgement of the entity's right to exist by a senior Arab leader.
