In another step towards normalizing ties with the "Israeli" entity, this time the General Mufti of Tunisia Othman Batikh made an interview with the Zionist 7th Channel, hailing the visit of the "Jewish Religious" delegation to his country.
Batikh further praised the delegation's "efforts of cooperation, dialogue and peaceful coexistence between different divine religions," he said.
Additionally, he told Channel 7 that "we must work hand in hand, communicate and get to know each other," adding that "Tunisia is the land of peace and peaceful coexistence between all religions regardless to their beliefs."
The Tunisian cleric also welcomed the "honored brothers from the Jewish religious delegation, led by Europe's chief rabbi, in their country, Tunisia, the land of peace, charity, cooperation and coexistence between all religions and sects, starting from a humanitarian level," he claimed.
He then concluded his statement as saying: "we have to honor each other regardless to our beliefs."
Batikh also wished that the Jewish delegation achieve the goals it came for, especially on the level of "cooperation and dialogue between divine religions."
