Trump Threatens to Cut Aid to UN Members Who Vote Against Al-Quds Recognition

Speaking to reporters at the White House Wednesday, Trump supported a letter sent by US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, in which she warned member states against supporting the resolution.

"The president will be watching this vote carefully and has requested I report back on those who voted against us," Haley wrote in the letter.

Trump, in his turn, said he "likes" Haley's message and that he is, indeed, "watching their votes."

"They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us," Trump said. "Well, we're watching those votes. Let them vote against us. We'll save a lot. We don't care."

In her letter to representatives of UN member-states, Haley warned them against supporting the resolution the rejects Trump's recognition of al-Quds as the Zionist entity's so-called ‘capital.'

The resolution, which expected to pass by sweeping majority, is slated for vote on Thursday.

"The president will be watching this vote carefully and has requested I report back on those who voted against us," Haley wrote in a letter obtained by Haaretz.

The UN General Assembly is set to meet on Thursday at 10 A.M. EST for an emergency discussion on the unilateral American move on al-Quds.
