Lebanese President Aoun: Hariri to Return Home for Independence Day
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri will return to Lebanon for the occasion of Independence Day, a statement from the Lebanese presidency announced Saturday, shortly after the prime minister arrived to Paris coming from Riyadh.
Hariri called President Michel Aoun to confirm that he would return to the country by Wednesday, Nov. 22, a statement from Aoun's press office reported.
Earlier, Hariri met with Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk and chief-of-staff Nader Hariri at the prime minister's residence in Paris Saturday morning.
He arrived to Paris with his wife Lara Saturday morning from Riyadh, a statement from Hariri's press office reported.
Machnouk had left Beirut for Paris Friday night to meet Hariri, local media reported.
The Lebanese PM is scheduled to be received by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace later Saturday at noon.
Following the meeting with Macron, Hariri, his wife Lara and his eldest son Hussam will attend a lunch hosted by the French president in Hariri's honor, the statement added.
