In a post on his Telegram account on Monday, Ali Reza Rahimi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Parliament [Majlis] said that a committee has been created for the ceremony, IRNA reported.

Rouhani Inauguration: 100+ Delegations to Attend Ceremony

In the Telegram post, Rahimi confirmed the turnout of seven presidents and 18 parliament speakers at the swearing-in ceremony of President Hassan Rouhani.

He said the upcoming inauguration ceremony would be unprecedented in Iran's history in terms of the number and ranks of the foreign dignitaries taking part.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Rahimi, the Iranian MP, said that the high level of participation in President Rouhani's second inauguration would be sending "an important message" to the world, especially at a time when the United States has sought to provoke world opinion against Iran.

The Iranian MP said that the Group 5+1 [five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, including delegations from Russia at Vice President level, France and Germany at Deputy foreign minister level, England at deputy foreign minister level and China at deputy Prime Minister level] are supposed to take part in the ceremony.

Various international bodies such as managing directors of D8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development [UNCTAD] and Asian Parliamentary Assembley [APA] will attend the ceremony.

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini is scheduled to take part in the event.

The swearing-in ceremony of Iran's re-elected President Rouhani is to be held on August 5 in Iran's Parliament [Majlis]. Many heads of states and top officials from different countries are expected to take part in the event.

Rouhani was re-elected for a second term in office on May 19, for another four years, sweeping over 23 million or 57 percent of the votes.

Also on Monday, Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani announced that he will send a high-ranking delegation to the inauguration ceremony.

Al-Thani made the remarks in a meeting with an Iranian parliamentary delegation, headed by Chairman of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi, in Doha.

Boroujerdi submitted an invitation letter by the Iranian parliament to the Qatari premier to participate in President Rouhani's inauguration ceremony after he won a second term in May.

Earlier, Iran's deputy interior minister for security, Hossein Zolfaghari, said all necessary precautions, including security measures, had been taken for the upcoming event.

He said the level of security at the Iranian Parliament had been raised from "sensitive" to "critical" for the day of the inauguration given the high number of participating delegations.

Saturday August 5 has been declared a holiday in the Iranian capital.
