Syrian Official Affirms that Syria Disposed of CWs Completely

Mikdad said that the recent developments in Syria are the best for the Syrian state since the beginning of the crisis, as the Syrian Army and its allies are advancing and reconciliations are taking place in several areas.

He pointed out that prior to the crisis, Syria was advancing quickly towards achieving economic and human development, and this didn't make some sides happy.

Mikdad further noted that the Arab Gulf regimes and the West are arming, harboring, and supporting terrorist organizations under the orders of ‘Israel' and the US, adding that any simple analyst must see that America is working to prolong the crisis in Syria in service of ‘Israel's' interests.

The Deputy Minister stressed that the direct US aggression on al-Shayrat airport had no political, moral, or practical justification, as it targeted those who fight terrorism in the region.

Mikdad asserted that Syria disposed of chemical weapons completely, adding that Syria requested that chemical materials be disposed of outside Syria so that there can be no doubts about them being destroyed or not, and ships came from Denmark, the US, Britain, and other states to carry out this process.

He pointed out that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons [OPCW] has acknowledged that Syria has disposed of everything related to the chemical issue.

Mikdad went on to say that after the Khan Sheikhoun incident, Syria invited the UN General Secretariat and the OPCW to investigate the incident.
