The Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements welcomed the Lebanese agreement passed in Doha and called on Arab parties to intervene for a solution to the Palestinian crisis.
Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum requested an "active Arab role" that united all Palestinian parties, allowing the Palestinian cause to face all challenges.
Islamic Jihad leader Khaled Al-Batsh in turn said that the Doha agreement raised Lebanon above "risks of internal conflict" and ensured peace, Lebanese unity and the "unity of its heroic resistance." Batsh said the agreement was confirmation that the Arab peoples would not allow Muslim unity to be dismantled.
Batsh also called on "Arab parties who participated in solving the Lebanese internal crisis" to act immediately for a resolution of the internal crisis in Palestine.
