Currently, 235 rescue teams are conducting relief operations for the residents of the 695 flood-stricken villages, said Rasul Rashki, the provincial managing director of Iran's Red Crescent Society.

There has been no official account of fatalities from the flooding, which has hit several southern areas of the province over the past few days, yet. However, local sources have so far reported the death of two people in two villages in the towns of Khash and Chabahar.

Rashki said the roads that had been blocked in the flood-hit areas had been reopened.

Rescue teams have also rescued 664 people on 166 vehicles trapped in the floodwaters.

Helicopters are also conducting aerial search to spot possible victims.

Meanwhile, over 100 families have been evacuated from six villages located in the path of the floodwaters.
