The "Israeli" aggression on Southern Lebanon has been repelled by Hizbullah batteries located in the area, as it has been estimated that since 2006 over 10,000 rockets and missiles had been fired into the "Israeli" entity.

«Israel» Spends Lavishly on Iron Dome to Counter Hizbullah

This encouraged the entity to deploy technology which has the ability to intercept missiles while in flight, before they reach their target; hence the Iron Dome saw light.

The Iron Dome System operates at the lowest level and is very effective at intercepting short-range, low-accuracy rockets.

The "Israeli" entity first deployed these missile systems in 2011, and is complemented by the Arrow-2 System, operational since 2000, designed to intercept ballistic missiles in space.

According to reports, the Iron Dome is reported to have intercepted more than 1500 missiles.

However, to counter Hizbullah missiles, the "Israeli" entity developed the "David's Sling". A joint American-"Israeli" project designed to complement the Iron Dome and Arrow Systems, by providing defense against longer-range artillery rockets, short-range ballistic missiles, low-flying cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

In recent times, Hizbullah in has acquired in excess of 30,000 rockets, missiles and mortars, all of which are aimed at the "Israeli" entity.

To put that into perspective, that is larger than the combined arsenal of all the members of NATO, with the exception of America.

Included in this arsenal are at least 700 long-range, high-payload rockets and missiles described in a recent magazine article as: "capable of taking down entire buildings in Tel Aviv or al-Quds [Jerusalem], wreaking havoc at ‘Israel's' major military bases ... shutting down the airports and ports, and taking out the electric grid-and that's just in the first week."

The report article added that some of these missiles have the capacity to deliver chemical weapons.

What the "Israeli" entity fears most is Hizbullah's ability of deploying missile launchers as a deterrent to the entity's efforts to strike the group's launchers and its massive stockpile of rockets and missiles.

Thus, the threat posed to the "Israeli" entity by Hizbullah's current arsenal of rockets and missiles is vastly greater than threats the entity has faced from Lebanon in the past.

Missile defense systems are clever, but also expensive. The cheapest rocket used by "Israel's" opponents cost no more than 500 US Dollars, whereas a single Iron Dome missile costs more than 60,000 US Dollars.

The "Israeli" entity currently operates nine Iron Dome batteries, each of which costs about 50 million Dollars, while each David's Sling ‘Stunner' Missile costs 1 million Dollars.

Threatened by Hizbullah's developing weaponry technology, the "Israeli" entity's authorities are taking steps to ensure that the settler population understands the limitations of the current and soon to be deployed missile technologies, but they struggle to gain traction with this message.

The entity expects more than 130,000 missiles and rockets are now aimed at "Israel" from Southern Lebanon.
