A senior Iranian official criticized measures taken by certain parties to save terrorists noting that playing 'with terrorists' card is like playing with fire.'

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the special aide to Majlis [Iranian Parliament] speaker, made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with the visiting Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations [UN] Bashar al-Jaafari.


Amir-Abdollahian stressed the importance of finding a political solution based on a Syrian-Syrian dialogue for the Syrian crisis, underlining that Tehran continues its effective support for Damascus till the complete fulfillment of diplomatic solution in the Arab country.

The presence of the terrorists in Syria is against peace and security both in Syria and the entire region, Amir-Abdollahian said.

Referring to Iran's policies focusing on the friendly interactions with the Islamic countries, Amir-Abdollahian stressed that the Islamic Republic's strategy is also based on boosting all-out brotherly cooperation with all regional and Islamic states.

Turning to the liberation of the Syrian strategic city of Aleppo, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated al-Jaafari on the occasion saying that resistance of the city's residents as well as of those of the Syrian Army have resulted to the defeat of the Takfiri terrorists in Aleppo.

He urged the global community to accelerate the dispatch of humanitarian aid to the crisis-stricken regions in Aleppo, Al-Fu'aa and Kafraya and other areas.

Touching upon Tehran-Damascus relations, Amir-Abdollahian said that the two capitals enjoy historical, friendly, strategic and deep relations.
