GAZA CITY-Five Palestinians have been martyred and four injured during two 'Israeli' air raids on the Gaza Strip, Palestinian doctors and Hamas have said.
Palestinian medical workers said four other Hamas security men were wounded in the 'Israeli' airstrikes on Hamas outposts in the southern Gaza towns of Rafah and Khan Younis.
An occupying army spokeswoman said the airstrikes were in response to continued cross-border attacks.
A Zionist was killed earlier on Friday by a mortar bomb fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Occupied Palestine, police said.
Palestinian activists from Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack on the Kfar Aza collective farm in southern occupied lands.
The occupying regime frequently conducts raids in Gaza which it says are aimed at curbing the rocket fire.
More than 1,950 rockets and mortars have been fired from Gaza at Zionist targets this year, the army said.
Separately, a Palestinian activist was martyred in a clash with occuying troops in the occupied West Bank on Friday, Palestinian security sources and 'Israeli' emergency workers said.
Meanwhile, exiled Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal on Friday called on Egypt and Arab states to take a decision in order to break the siege and open Rafah crossing border.
Speaking at a Palestinian refugee camp near Damascus to mark the "Naqba" or catastrophe of 'Israel's' creation 60 years ago, Mashaal threatened that his resistance movement would capture 'Israelis' if the occupying regime does not release tens of thousands of Palestinian prisoners.
"If our enemies don't set free our prisoners held in the 'Israeli' jails, Gilad Shalit will not be the last" to be captured, he said of the 'Israeli' soldier captured by Palestinian activists in 2006.
There are "11,600 Palestinian prisoners in 'Israeli' jails," Mashaal said.
Shalit was captured almost two years ago by resistance groups including Hamas in a cross-border raid from the Gaza Strip on June 15, 2006.
Mashaal has repeatedly said that Shalit will not be released unless 'Israel' frees Palestinian prisoners.
Mashaal said he will give the regime a chance to accept a state based on the Palestinian state's borders.
"There is an opportunity," he said. "A Palestinian and Arabic position that accepts a state based on the 1967 borders including Jerusalem (al-Quds), the returning right and without settlements or exchanging territories."
Mashaal added that if the Zionist regime refuses this proposal Arab states should takes steps to pressurize 'Israel'.
"If 'Israel' refuses this Egyptian effort concerning the truce according to the criteria offered by the Palestinian forces, I call Egypt and Arab states to take a decision in order to break the siege and open Rafah crossing point from one side," he said.
