AL-AKHBAR:

US Preparing for New Sanctions, Will Not Affect Hizbullah-Salameh Relations
Sources close to the Head of the Central Bank Riyadh Salameh as well as other March 14 sources said that the US government is about issue a new list that contains names of people and institutions that are added to the previous list of sanctions imposed on Hizbullah, reported al-Akhbar newspaper. According to the sources, the list will not complicate the internal political scene, especially in terms of the relations between Hizbullah and the head of the Central Bank Riyadh Salameh.

On December 18, 2015, US President Barack Obama signed into law the so-called Hizbullah International Financing Prevention Act. The legislation says Washington will target those "knowingly facilitating a significant transaction or transactions for" Hizbullah or any individual, business or institution linked to the group.

This had come in the context of ongoing pressure and war against the resistance group as it continues to restrain ‘Israel' after its defeat in Lebanon in 2000 and 2006. Ministerial sources had said that the Banks are required to be more realistic in handling the American law and its practical clauses, underscoring that some are overdoing things and going even farther than what Washington wants.

‘Israeli' Enemy Breaches Lebanon's Sovereignty, Mass Movement If UN Does Not Take Measures

The ‘Israeli' enemy escalated its breach to Lebanon's sovereignty as it tried to pave a military road inside Lebanese territory at the outskirts of Shebaa occupied farms, which caused civil alarm on both sides of the borders. According to sources, the blatant land violation in the farms area has caused major tension, which forced the Lebanese side to file a complaint at the UNIFIL headquarters, and stressed that the UN forces have only 24 hours to resolve the matter before a mass movement starts in the area to prevent the ground works from taking place.

In numerous ‘Israeli' attempts to breach Lebanon's sovereignty, Lebanon described these breaches as a blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty, U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, international law and the Charter of the United Nations. It also warned of the impact of such violations on international peace and security.

Lebanon regularly files U.N. complaints over ‘Israel's' near-daily land, air, and sea violations of Lebanese sovereignty. ‘Israel' occupied much of southern Lebanon between 1982 and 2000 and its invading army reached the capital Beirut in 1982.

Egypt Keen On Lebanon's Well-Being, End of Presidential Impasse
Al-Jomhouria newspaper on Wednesday saw that there is a new Egyptian interest in Lebanon in general and in its presidential impasse in particular, which was reflected in the visit of the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shokri, who held talks with high-profile political figures in the country. The talks, according to the paper, focused on what Egypt can do to help Lebanon resolve its presidential deadlock.

During his meeting with head of the Parliament Nabih Berri, Shokri assured that the gola behind his visit is "to play a positive role in helping all sides in Lebanon to communicate and reach a solution as well as tighten relations between the two countries. Also, in a meeting with Prime Minister Tammam Salam, Shokri stressed that his visit come in the context of "reassuring Egypt's concern over the well-being of Lebanon and ending its crises."

Lebanon has been without a president since May 2014 when the term of Michel Suleiman ended without the election of a successor, while sources have anticipated that the presidential vacuum in the Lebanon will continue for the months to come.
