Also, the dailies touched on the different regional and domestic files with special attention to the latest developments in Turkey after the unsuccessful coup that took place on Saturday.

AL-LIWAA: Turkish Ships Intercepted, Might be Carrying Arms and Ammunition

Al-Liwaa newspaper said on Friday that the Lebanese army searched two ships carrying Turkish goods coming from Turkey. The newspaper quoted sources as saying that the army forces searched part of the trucks carrying loads on the ships, and seized some 60 trucks to be subject for further search later on.

Security sources told the newspaper that the first searching round was not enough and so the army kept the two ships and decided to make sure there are no arms or explosives among the goods through scanning the trucks.

Earlier in March, Turkish media reported that the Greek Coast Guards stopped and confiscated a Turkish ship carrying weapons to Lebanon. The ship reportedly departed from the port of Izmir on February 4 and was loaded with six containers, two of which contained weapons and ammunition. Greek authorities arrested all crew members, among them six Syrians, one Indian and four Lebanese.

AL-JOMHOURIA: Terrorists Might Exploit Situation in Turkey, Smuggle Arms to Lebanon

On the same note, al-Jomhouria newspaper reported that security sources had received "precise and serious" information that the two ships are carrying "dangerous material" onboard.

The information obtained by the Lebanese army said that there are attempts to send shipments of arms and ammunition that constitute a serious threat to Lebanon's security.

The newspaper said that according to sources, certain terrorist groups may be trying to exploit the latest events and unrest in Turkey to smuggle arms and ammunition into Lebanon to their fellow terrorist groups inside Lebanon.

On the same note, other sources reported that the Lebanese army forces have already found arms on the ship and that the two ships took off from one of the Turkish ports and are to be delivered to terrorist foreign sides affiliated to Daesh in the North of Lebanon. Yet, military sources did not confirm the information, reassuring that the Lebanese army and security apparatuses will do their utmost effort and carry out precautionary measures to preserve Lebanon's security and safety.

The two ships that docked in Tripoli's sea port with trucks and their loads on board were stopped by the Lebanese army on Wednesday night for search to ensure Lebanon's safety, especially in light of the sensitive circumstances in Lebanon and the region.

AL-BINAA: Europe to Stop All Forms of Cooperation with Turkey?

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan continues his campaign to take control over the Turkish society, and hire his people in the security, judicial, media and military institutions in a comprehensive plan to clear the institutions from any employees who are not loyal to him, said al-Binaa newspaper. The strict reaction of Erdogan and the crack down on the Turkish society has alarmed Europe, which in its turn is having second thoughts about considering the acceptance of Turkey as a member of the European Union.

According to the paper, sources in the commissariat for European Foreign Affairs will study the legal dimension of the Turkish government's decisions and activities and see what legal options are on the table in light of the new situation, including the possibility of stopping all forms of cooperation and negotiations between Turkey and Europe.

Erdogan has declared a three-month state of emergency following a failed coup in the country. Turkey began to go after those believed to have played a role in the unsuccessful coup after the one-day attempt was declared over on July 16.

According to official estimates, over 60,000 people, including senior government and judiciary officials and members of the army, have been fired or dismissed from their jobs since then.
