Lebanese newspapers on Wednesday focused on the implications of the terrorist attacks in which 8 suicide-bombers blew up themselves in al-Qaa town during a period of twelve hours. The dailies focused on the official stances on the matter, which reflect a sense of unity among the different sides and an understanding to the fact that Lebanon seems to be entering a new phase.

DAILY SCOPE: Hariri Media Machine Growing Weak, Sakr Back to the Picture

Also, the papers touched on the Future Party Head Saad Hariri's decision to bring back Okab Sakr to run the media machines of the Future party which is growing weaker by time.

AL-JOMHOURIA: Ministers United on Supporting Security Forces in Face of Terrorism

Ministerial sources told al-Jomhouria daily on Wednesday that all the Lebanese Ministers agree that it is very vital to provide a legitimate cover to the security forces in Lebanon and to reject self-security. The sources stressed that due to the al-Qaa attacks, rival ministers were united on the importance of state security. This was mostly noticed when the ministers expressed solidarity and harmony on the comments of Minister Gebran Bassil who praised the ministers of the al-Qaa and their attitude which reflects a high sense of responsibility.

On a related note, sources revealed to the newspaper that the security sources have so far identified 7 of the suicide-bombers who were all of Syrian nationality. The sources suggested that the suicide-bombers might have reached al-Qaa through the outskirts of Arsal.

Commenting on the explosions, MP Walid Sukariyeh told al-Jomhouria newspaper that "Al-Qaa was the target of the terrorist groups and not some other place, which assures that this terrorism fights all those who do not carry and adopt its ideology.

Sukariyeh pointed out that "the policy of Lebanon in disassociating itself from the region must be changed;" assuring that "Lebanon today should review its policies and must have a new strategy for confronting this situation."

AS-SAFIR: Terrorists Trying to Compensate for their Failure, Lebanese United

The Lebanese daily As-Safir said that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri had warned that the suicide attacks on al-Qaa town represents a new turn in the plot of targeting Lebanon and its people. He pointed out that the terrorists who had failed in achieving their goals and breaching Lebanon's sovereignty are trying to compensate for their failures through breaching the lines of the people in the Lebanese society.

According to Berri's visitors, he stressed that Lebanese officials and politicians should provide immunity for Lebanon and its society, which cannot stand in face of such terrorism without national unity. He further blamed the Lebanese officials for the situation, pointing out that the shortcomings are due to the constitutional void since Lebanon remains without a president and has a non-productive cabinet.

The House speaker also underscored that the terrorists had tried to sow strife among the Sunni and Shia people in Lebanon but their attempts were fruitless owing to the national dialogue that was held among the Lebanese different parties at the time, adding that the attacks on al-Qaa seem to be another desperate attempt to sow discord among the Lebanese.

Lebanon's northeastern village of al-Qaa is still in a state of alert as fresh suicide bombings rocked the town on Monday evening, injuring eight people. Three suicide bombers riding motorcycles blew themselves up in the center of the predominantly Christian town on Monday night. The overnight attack came only hours after four suicide bombers killed five people and wounded 15 others in the town before dawn.

Security Forces began a comprehensive search of the entire border village, as the army's Airborne Regiment launched raid operations in the town's outskirts in search of the suspects.

AL-AKHBAR: Hariri Weak, Bringing Back Sakr to Fuel Media Campaigns

The notorious MP Okab Sakr of the Future Party seems to be back in the Lebanese picture after a long time of isolation on the political and media levels. Head of the Future party Saad Hariri seems to be in deep trouble and so desperate that he had to summon Sakr and seek him as a solution to the weakening structure of the Future party.

Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Wednesday that Future party leader Saad Hariri has promised Sakr to hand him the responsibility of managing the blue party's media engine once again.

Sources told al-Akhbar that Hariri wants to bring back the media face that was once an active mobilizer and took part in prompting tension and agitating the Future party audience; Okab Sakr. According to the sources, Sakr will carry the responsibility of heading the media committee of the Future party as well as managing the Future newspaper. The sources further added that since the Future party seems to be preparing for a fierce political battle against Hizbullah, Sakr seems the perfect fit for the job especially that he is so keen on pleasing Saad Hariri.

In 2012, al-Akhbar and the Lebanese TV channel OTV had published recordings which reveal the implication of Sakr in vast arms traffic to Syria at the behest Hariri. The lawmaker was forced to admit the facts that he had repeatedly denied until now. In a declaration to the Press, he claimed that he was "proud of what he has done".
