Iraqi officials said a suicide bomber targeting a mosque west of Baghdad killed 14 and wounded 32 Monday night.

The attack struck an Abu Ghraib mosque as worshipers gathered to pray after breaking their fast during the holy month of Ramadan, police reported.

Police and hospital officials confirmed the tolls and spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not allowed to release information.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Daesh [Arabic acronym for "ISIS" / "ISISL"] Takfiri group usually target civilians and security infrastructure in the Arab country.

On Sunday, Iraqi forces declared Fallujah fully liberated from Daesh after the operation to retake the city was launched late last month.

This incident is the first of such since the Iraqi government declared victory over Daesh in Fallujah.

Gruesome violence has plagued the northern and western parts of Iraq ever since Daesh terrorists launched an offensive in June 2014, and took control of portions of the Iraqi territory.

The Iraqi army, backed by volunteer forces, has been engaged in extensive battles against the Daesh is and made gains in pushing the militants out of the country's cities and villages.
