The Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Ali Larijani, on Monday said that Iran has information proving that Saudi Arabia shared intelligence with the "Israeli" apartheid regime during the Second Lebanon War in 2006.

Larijani: Saudis Gave ’Israel’ ’Strategic’ Intel in 2006 Lebanon War

Speaking to the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network, Ali Larijani said that Iran had "definite information" about the kingdom's security cooperation with the "Israeli" apartheid regime, the Walla website reported.

He was quoted as saing that during the "Israeli" entity's Operation Cast Lead in Gaza in 2009, the Saudis looked for an "excuse" not to get involved by claiming that "it was an internal war".

"Tehran stood alongside Hamas and helped it militarily, rather than hiding it," he stressed.

Larijani also claimed that the Arab countries do not want to confront the "Israeli" entity, and are instead "satisfied with shout slogans in international conferences."

His comments come one week after he was re-elected as the temporary speaker of Iran's new parliament.

Also on Monday, Larijani told the head of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Ramadan Shalah, that it was "the duty of every Muslim to support Palestine," according to Channel 10 television.

Larijani cooperated closely with the Iranian government in approving Iran's nuclear deal with world powers last year.

Iranian officials had long accused "Israel" and Saudi Arabia of collaborating with one another, specifically claiming that the apartheid regime and the Saudis worked together to sabotage Iran's nuclear program.
