Cruz, Sanders Emerge Victorious in Wisconsin Primaries

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz and Democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders emerged victorious in the crucial Wisconsin presidential primary.
Relatively, the US media projected the two as the winners of the Tuesday primary, held in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.
Meanwhile, the results could serve as a major blow to the two parties' front runners, billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump as well as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The Vermont Democratic senator secured 53.5 percent of the votes and gained 44 delegates, while his rival, Clinton, 45.9 percent with 28 delegates.
On the Republican front, Cruz was projected as the winner with over 50 percent of the votes as counting was underway.
Trump, who seeks to gain the 1,237 delegates to win the GOP's nomination, is now looking forward to New York, just like Hillary who leads Sanders in the key state.
The result would further consolidate Cruz's position as the main anti-Trump candidate as Ohio Governor John Kasich trails far behind.
If Cruz wins all of the state's 42 delegates, Trump would need to win 57 percent of those remaining to for nomination.
