Tunisia Refuses to Label Hizbullah ’Terrorist’

Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi expressed his displeasure on Friday over classifying the Lebanese party of Resistance - Hizbullah as a 'terrorist organization' in the statement issued by the Arab Interior Ministers Council, local Al-Chourouk daily reported.
During his meeting with Foreign Minister Khamisa-Jehinawi, Essebsi called on the Foreign Ministry "to correct the mistake that our country has committed," and "to blame those who were responsible for making the decision."
Shortly after the meeting, the Foreign Ministry issued a statement to fix the Tunisian official position regarding the above-mentioned classification.
Earlier, a member of Tunisia's Nobel Peace Prize winning quartet strongly denounced the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council [P]GCC for labeling the Lebanese Resistance movement as a terrorist group.
The Tunisian General Labor Union [UGTT] said in a statement on Thursday that the resistance movement was a "symbol of the Lebanese national struggle" against the occupational policies of the "Israeli" entity.
UGTT added that the Saudi-led move against Hizbullah formed part of "an offensive by foreign and other regional forces to divide the Arab world and destroy its forces."
