Days after the assassination of resistance leader Samir al-Quntar, "Israeli" soldiers based on the Palestinian-Lebanese border were told to wear helmets and bulletproof vests to protect themselves from any possible gunfire.

Fearing Hizbullah Revenge, ’Israel’ Takes Preemptive Measures

Besides, the "Israeli" army instructed farmers to limit their activity near the border with Lebanon and instituted other additional measures in the area, amid fears of retaliation after they assassinated the General of Freed Detainees, Martyr Samir al-Quntar in Syria.

In response, Hizbullah vowed revenge for the assassination of al-Quntar on Sunday, which it believed is a Zionist crime.

Following the assassination, Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that Hizbullah would respond to the killing of al-Quntar: "We reserve the right to respond to this assassination at the time and place of our choosing. We in Hizbullah will exercise that right."

Moreover, Hizbullah said that al-Quntar, who spent nearly three decades in "Israeli" detention for his heroic part in the 1979 Nahariya operation, was martyred in an overnight Saturday airstrike on a residential building in Jaramana, on the outskirts of the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Al-Quntar was released in 2008 in exchange for the bodies of kidnapped Zionist soldiers. Following his release, he resumed his revolutionary activities as his famous saying will always echo in the world: "I returned from Palestine just to return to Palestine!"
